Craig, Hinckley & Sirhan, Sirhan

The mainstream media seems to believe that Barack Obama will name Sen. Hillary Clinton as his Secretary of State. According to the New York Daily News, Sen. Obama even hinted to that effect in an interview Sunday on "60 Minutes".

However, I am a bit skeptical about that for the following reason:

Sen. Obama has named Gregory Craig as his White House counsel. Mr. Craig, who defended former President Bill Clinton against impeachment during the Monica Lewinsky scandal, later went on to become a senior adviser to Barack Obama's campaign. During the Presidential primaries, the Obama campaign released a memorandum from Mr. Craig, in which he assailed Hillary Clinton, claiming that despite her claims to the contrary, she had very little foreign policy experience.

So the question is: Will Barack Obama ignore his campaign's own memorandum and appoint someone who purportedly has very little foreign policy experience to be his Secretary of State?

And here's another question that begs to be asked: Mr. Craig represented John Hinckley Jr., the would-be assassin, who shot President Ronald Reagan in 1981. Bill Ayers dedicated his 1972 manifesto - "Prairie Fire" - in part, to Robert Kennedy's assassin, Sirhan, Sirhan. Barack Obama is quite friendly with Mr. Ayers. And now he's tapping Greg Craig - who represented Ronald Reagan's would-be-assassin - as White House Counsel.

Why is it that Sen. Obama takes comfort in associating with people who adore Presidential assassins?

I'm just asking.........

[It should also be noted that Mr. Craig represented several other high-profile thugs, including Pedro Miguel González Pinzón, a Panamanian legislator wanted in the US for the murder in 1992 of a US soldier and the attempted murder of another, and former Bolivian Defense Minister Carlos Sanchez-Berzain in a “crimes against humanity” trial. He also represented the father of Elian Gonzales during Elian's immigration/deportation ordeal.]
