Muslim Brotherhood, Hamas condemn Bin Laden "assassination"

Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood on Monday condemned the killing of al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden.

The Brotherhood said in a statement that the organization "is against violence in general, against assassinations and in favor of fair trials."

Likewise, Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh denounced the killing of Bin Laden as an extension of a U.S. policy that "depends on killing." The Hamas leader also expressed his sincere desire that Bin Laden's soul would "rest in peace".

The Jordanian Muslim Brotherhood - in a statement released on Monday - praised the "commitment and dedication" that Bin Laden had evinced toward "his ideology" until his death.
